The Swedes saved the day! Norwegians? Swedes? Well, the ex-vikings.

Crane-speak

Ah, lovely Tram Chim National Park! Jenny set me up with this tour before we met and it was awesome. The guide was an amazing birder but didn't speak a word of English. We communicated by pointing at the pictures in our guidebooks, which were exactly the same (Craig Robson still has the leading SE Asia guide). Sadly, we didn't get to see the sarus cranes, the tide was too high. Bird list:

Ashy Woodswallow Artamus fuscus
Barn Swallow Hirundo rustica
Black Drongo Dicrurus macrocercus
Black-crowned Night-Heron Nycticorax nycticorax
Bronze-winged Jacana Metopidius indicus

Olive-backed Pipit Anthus hodgsoni
Oriental Darter Anhinga melanogaster
Oriental Pipit Anthus rufulus
Pacific Swallow Hirundo tahitica

What's in your fridge?

Just a quick cartoon (true story, actually) to end the hiatus. Not really a hiatus though since I am pretty well into the second book. So far, it's less about making fun of Jenny and more about our story and an expat's embarrassing adventure in a foreign country. I can tell this will be a good one because every time I look at I think "man, this is hard work!" The first one was easy--a cartoon a day and print. This one has a lot more detail and 3 to 9 panel cartoons and short cartoon stories. And some pain, sweat and blood, which hopefully will wash off during the printing process.

Can You Handle the Realism???

We're in Oi Vietnam Magazine!

A very warm Thank You to Oi Magazine (facebook here) for featuring us in their April 2014 issue! I had a very nice skype interview with James Pham, who was able to fully capture me in his article. Maybe too well--notice how I ramble on without really answering the questions? That's how I roll! Hope you all enjoy the magazine!

Book 2, Dedication Page

I won't be showing more of Book 2 online (there's a rule that was meant to be broken), but I felt that the dedication page shows a little of what it's about: a blending of Vietnamese and English. Hoefully, someone speaking only Vietnamese or only English would understand the gist of this, and a Vietnamese-English couple could figure out the whole thing together while snuggling over a warm cup of nuoc mam. Awwwwwwww!

What You Want (apparently)

Amazing, the most consistently viewed cartoon is this one:

I can take the hint. And I'll even give you folks what you want. So, without further ado, here's some full-on MONKEY BUTT. You're welcome.
